  • How far in advance can I purchase tickets?

    Ticket sales begin on Sundays at midnight when the ice schedule is posted. Tickets are available for purchase online or in-person at the admissions both located at 207 Thompson’s Point Road, Portland ME 04102

  • Is there parking available?

    Thompson’s Point is a sprawling 30-acre campus and includes a number of parking areas close by to The Rink. Please note that Thompson’s Point is a pay-to-park campus 24/7, weekends & holidays at a rate of $2 per hour. Payment can be completed using the Passport Parking App, zone 1213, or at any one of the 14 pay-and-display kiosks situated around campus.

  • I bought tickets online. Now what?

    All skaters and patrons must check in at the admissions booth at Thompson’s Point Rink, 207 Thompson’s Point Road, Portland ME 04102 in order to be admitted onto the ice.

  • I can no longer attend a Public Skate. Can I get a refund?

    Skating tickets are non-refundable for public skate.

  • What happens if it's inclement weather?

    If a skating session is cancelled by The Thompson’s Point Rink due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, skating tickets are automatically refunded for the affected sessions.

    Ticket holders will be notified via email should a session be cancelled along with cancellation notices posted to the The Thompson’s Point Rink Instagram and The Thompson’s Point Rink Facebook Page.

    If there is no post or email, then the skating session is on as scheduled.

  • Do I need to purchase skate rentals in advance?

    No, at this time rentals are only available at the admission booth.

  • Do you offer gift cards?

    Gift cards are not available at this time, however we do offer a book of 10 public skating passes for $80. These are available for purchase in person or through the online ticket portal.

  • How do I book the rink for a private event?

  • How much does a private rental cost?

    Two hour private rink rentals are $600. . Rates include up to 200 people maximum and do not include ice skate rentals, skate sharpening services or bar services.

  • When are private rink rentals available?

    Private rink rentals are available in two-hour periods on Mondays, Wednesdays & Sundays throughout the season (December through February weather depending). Bookings are subject to availability and private rentals are popular and sell out.

  • Do private rentals include skates?

    No. Since many of our guests have their own skates, skate rentals are not included in a private rental. Skate rentals are available at $6 per pair.

  • Do you offer pond hockey?

    Regrettably, we're unable to host public pond hockey sessions due to restrictions from our insurance carrier.

    However, if you're interested in reserving the rink for hockey, private rentals are an option. Please note that event insurance, purchased by the renter, is mandatory for participation. The Certificate of Insurance (COI) must be submitted to the venue before the event.

  • Does the Rink offer catering for parties?

    Private parties are welcome to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages.
    If you are interested in catering or having our bar open to serve alcohol during your event, please indicate that on your inquiry form checkbox and we will provide further information on food and beverage pricing depending on the size and scope of your party!
